Comprehensive Examinations

After a satisfactory evaluation of IS 295a and earning 18 units of IS courses (IS 201, IS 214, IS 215, IS 226, IS 238, and IS 272), with a weighted average grade of 2.00 or better, you may apply to take a comprehensive examination to be prepared by a committee appointed by the UPOU.

You must submit your proposal in IS 295a before taking the general examination. If failed, one re-examination will be allowed upon unanimous approval of the examination committee. You can take IS 295b upon successfully passing the comprehensive examination.

1. Accomplish the Application form for the Comprehensive Examination.

Note: Please make sure the filled-out form is complete and correct. In the application form, the Type of Examination is "Others", then add "Online" to its right side. Students will be given instructions on the date and time of the examination.

2. Pay the application fee of PHP 200. Please visit Payment of Fees for the procedures.

3. Submit the accomplished comprehensive examination form and the proof of payment to the MIS Program Support at misprogramsupport@upou.edu.ph, cc'd to fics@upou.edu.ph. E-copies of both documents are also acceptable.

4. The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) will attach a signed True Copy of Grades (TCG) to the document. The application and the signed TCG will be forwarded to the Faculty Office for proper evaluation of the PC.

5. The student should wait for the approval and notification coming from the MIS Program Support if the application to take the comprehensive examination is approved.

*Concerns regarding the application should be addressed to MIS Program Support

The examination results will be announced to the students two to three weeks after the examination, depending on if a technical problem is encountered in the Exam Portal.
