What would happen if my GWA did not qualify for the MIS Comprehensive Examination?
After evaluating the students who have applied for the MIS Comprehensive Examination, the MIS Program Support will contact the MIS Program Chair about the approved and disapproved students, based on the qualifications and requirements they have submitted. Those students who did not qualify for the examination due to low GWA will receive a notice from the MIS Program Chair. Students will be given further options on whether they can take penalty courses to improve their GWA with a target grade, or to process their Certificate of Completion from the Faculty. The penalty courses that a student can apply for are any of the available elective courses that the student hasn't taken yet. Please refer to the List of Elective Courses for MIS article for the list of all available courses. For future information, UPOU does not have existing academic rules and regulations that allow the nullification of grades from previous courses taken.
Note: If the student is not approved to take the examination, the payment can be applied toward re-evaluation of the application or other document requests to the University.
The student must resubmit their application and proof of payment to the MIS Program Support mail at misprogramsupport@upou.edu.ph for re-evaluation purposes. The student should wait for the approval and notification coming from the MIS Program Support if the application to take the comprehensive examination is approved.
