How to Compute my GWA for the MIS Comprehensive Examination?

Students should have completed all 6 IS courses; IS 201, IS 214, IS 215, IS 226, IS 238, and IS 272 before proceeding with the initial computation of their GWA for the comprehensive examination. Take note that the computation of the GWA does not include the grades from the elective courses.

Below is a sample computation of GWA without 5.0, DRP, and EXT, which qualifies a student to take the comprehensive examination.

* IS 295a must have a grade of 'S', but not be included in the computation and not counted in units taken.

** DRP is not computed and not counted in units taken.

*** '5.0' grades are still part of the computation of the grades

Students should contact the MIS Program Chair in case their GWA falls below the 2.0 requirement to be evaluated. You may also visit What would happen if my GWA did not qualify for the MIS Comprehensive Examination? for more comprehensive instructions in line with this case.

Take note that even if students have their computed GWA, the MIS Program Support will still request the Electronic True Copy of Grades (eTCG) from the Records Office. Students can also request their official computation of GWA by contacting the Records Office at records_support@upou.edu.ph.
